(VIDEO MAY TAKE A FEW MINUTES TO LOAD) |
The video to the right shows the first prototype of a two-wheeled balancing robot, built with the Machine Science breadboard platform and the standard servo motors included in the Mobile Robot Base Kit. All other chassis components were fabricated from foam core or expanded PVC materials and secured with mechanical fasteners. An infrared distance sensor is used to detect when the robot leans forward or back, and the servos are programmed to respond accordingly, keeping the robot upright.
