Inspired by Machine Science's annual robot sumo competition at the Museum of Science-Boston, the St. Louis chapter of the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers (SHPE) is working with middle school teachers and students at the St. Cecilia Academy, a predominantly Hispanic Catholic school in southwest St. Louis, to build sumo robots, using Machine Science's robotics kits. A 13-week fall semester session culminated in an intramural competition, with nearly the whole school in attendance. Scroll down for photos from the competition.
